I was remembering earlier today that this would have been Maud's birthday (it was also my Grandad's birthday, and St. Andrew's day, so Nov. 30 always tends to stand out in my mind).
Kate, I know! I always pictured them as looking like very elegant and sleek china beagles with graceful green ears. It took me a long time to come to terms with Gog and Magog's looks. But my husband got me a similar pair for an anniversary one year, and I got to "meet" the real Magog when I visited PEI and all I can say is that the picture doesn't do them justice.
