These are Baby Lulu's first library books. Blueberries for Sal, because blueberries are the favorite food right now. I wish I could be as happy about anything as Lulu is about blueberries. The Big Snow, because we're supposed to get actual, honest-to-goodness snow here in DC this weekend, and I am so excited that I hardly can stand it. I don't think parents are supposed to get this excited about things. And then Eloise because she rules and I secretly want to be her. I'd love to lunch in the Palm Court Room and have Room Service deliver my cookies every day.
They're due back December 1st SOMEBODY PLEASE REMIND ME. I do not want to rack up massive fines on my child's behalf and ruin her good standing at the library before she can even read.
We spent the afternoon cuddled up on the couch with a blanket reading. I've been reading a lot, lately, and can't wait to post reviews of the good, the ugly, and everything in between. Which I promise to do now that my (very) long (seriously, Scandinavian-type long) self-imposed maternity leave is officially over. I'll have to write a few words here and there between feedings and naps and work and maybe some sleep, if I'm lucky. But I really can't wait to share my thoughts with you darling readers (if you haven't been totally lamed out by months of neglect).
I hope you all have been having a wonderful fall.

It's Lulu's favorite season yet, but then she hasn't seen winter (WAIT FOR IT, GIRL. THERE IS SNOW. You will love that shit. Better than leaves by far.)
Though perhaps not as tasty.Reviews, stories, pictures, links all coming soon! Promise promise promise (as Eloise's Nanny would say).
Oh, she is so adorable!!!
ReplyDeleteGreat picks for her first library books - I see you are starting her out right. That was one of the things I most looked forward to as a parent - sharing all my favorite books with my kids.
Looking forward to reading your upcoming reviews!
Sue
Thanks, Sue! I have been wanting to check books out on Lu's behalf for ages, but I wanted to wait until she was, you know, at least longer than they were. :)
ReplyDeleteKids books are so much fun! I have a niece named Sally, and her family took her blueberry picking this summer so that they could have their own Blueberries for Sal moment!
ReplyDeleteI remember all of those baby books! Such good picks! It does look like baby Lulu is loving fall, so sweet :)
ReplyDeleteAw! She is too cute!
ReplyDeleteI think I kinda remember The Big Snow from when I was a kid! That's really cute that you got her books out already. Looking back, I wish my parents had read to me more so when I was little.

You guys can get books out for that long! That's over a month! We just get two weeks before we have to renew the books.
Yeah...I can totally understand not wanting to do that to her. Especially since you had those books out for a long time earlier this year!
I look forward to the new reviews!
Oh, the joys of discovering something new! She's adorable!
ReplyDeleteShe's so cute.
ReplyDeleteI'm in the wiping up puke phase :)
So you're saying I should get the hang of this blending books with my baby at around 6 months? :)
